Absolutely delicious food and friendly attention.
Terrible restaurant. Atmosphere is quite good, but taste of dishes is from 80's East Europe restaurant. People wait too long to pay even when restaurant is almost empty, because waiter cutting his foot nails outside (he doesn't wash hands after that). And finally their charged higher tip after our visit. Don't go there!!!
Honestly this restaurant is a gem!! Perfect location across from the park with a great patio. There is such a wide selection of food so if your party is divided on danish or american (like mine was) this is the place to go! extremely family friendly and the service is amazing. The only sad thing is how rude some of the other customers can be, the restaurant is owned by an older man with a slight accent (his english is still perfect) and every couple tables pestered him about where hes from and the sort-- leave the man alone if the food and service is good who cares-- Im sure that most of the negative reviews are stemmed from their racism which he definitely doesn't deserve. My family and I had an amazing experience (i highly recommend the lamb shank with okra stew and the half chicken we literally cleaned the plates from how delicious they were). We'll definitely be coming back!!
Very friendly people working there but the food is way overpriced for the quality. Son ordered chicken strips and got Costco frozen Dinosaur chicken nuggets that were fried.
One of the first places that comes up as a vegan restaurant in the area for Google search. It only has one option, And it is not that good. Avoid. Service wasn't good. The waiter was very impatient and would not describe choices to us other than read the menu out loud. He couldn't even describe the beer that was avaliable, it was "just beer". The Non-vegan choices are not the best either. The roast beef dip was sad. I will avoid next time.
Really good Danish food! My dad enjoyed the prime steak! The owner and waiter showed us great hospitality by giving us free mints and free refills.
Don't do it. Believe me, I never write reviews but you need to know. Just don't go hear. Horrible food and worse prices. It was empty but I didn't take that as a warning. It was like the food was made days ago and just heated up for me. Gross. How you mess up simple things i don't know. Even breakfast home fries. They were just cubed and deep fried like french fries. Aweful. Never refeilled my coffee and even though I was 1 of 2 tables it took me longer to payvthan eat my food.
Quality of food is low. Salad was only lettuce and fish and fries were over fried, hard as a rock. Food is pre cooked or frozen. Shrimp was not cooked from raw but pre cooked. Food came out fast but not fresh. Only the pea soup tasted good. Service was nice but food was not worth the high price.
l would give it 0 stars if it was possible.
My Dad had the Corned Beef and Cabbage and I had the Sauteed Vegetables. He said it was the best Corned Beef and Cabbage he had ever tasted and this is the only restaurant in Solvang I have found that serves a real vegetarian meal that is succulent and delicious. The price was good for the quality meals (we each had enough leftovers for another meal) The owners and staff are very friendly, delightful to talk to and took care of our meal orders very quickly. This is my new favorite restaurant in Solvang. And I've lived here for 16 years.
such a cute place with the danish feel that you look forward to when going to solvang! good home cookin' just like they wrote on their sign. The food came out so quickly but was extremely fresh! The reviews are right when they talk about the lamb shank it literally falls off the bone. my husband ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and he said it was almost as good as his italian mama's which is quite a compliment. the table over ordered some sandwiches and they looked so good (we'll be trying those next time were in town). price was fair for the portions--this is a tourist destination if you want to get something cheaper than 10 bucks mcdonalds is just a town over. You can really tell that they're trying their best and the owner seems like a very kind man. highly recommend this sweet spot, will definitely be coming back! (their breakfast menu seemed pretty decent too)
It is a very nice and quaint restaurant. Very friendly and helpful in helping with making a selection, and not over priced. I had the ruben with french fires, the sandwich was very generously filled with meat. I had already finished eating when I realized I had not taken a picture, sorry guys. It was scrumptious!
Reheated frozen food should never be allowed in a restaurant yet that is what they server here. I don't understand why they need a kitchen, I'm sure a microwave would do just fine for this horrible establishment.
The Reuben sandwich was delicious!
It was way too expensive for the food we got. It was frozen food heated up in a pan. Too eerily quiet and no good vegetarian options garlic bread was soft and kinda soggy.
We were staying about 30 minutes away and decided to pay Solvang a visit since we were close by. The server was pleasant and polite. The place looked simple and quiet, which we didn’t mind at. We were surprised to see our over priced bill though. We had a coffee, 1 iced tea and 2 sodas and 4 meals (2 adults and 2 children). This came to $111 dollars. Then I realized that they include an18% tip with the bill. This was not told to us when we were ordering our food. However, when you sign your bill, it asks for TIP amount. Why? They are already including the tip on the bill. Just be aware that the food is quite overpriced.
They tip themselves more than fair on the bill....
The food was so salty and tasted like it was made with sauce from the can!!!
I have been to this restaurant in 3 separate occasions. Each time has been delightful! The food has been great, from the Roast Beef Dip, to the turkey dinner, to the turkey pot pie. If you are looking for traditional meals or something that tastes home cooked, this is the place to go!
Honestly the best food in town, super nice people and the price is just right. Literally the best in town. And the view on the park and cars is just unbelievable amazing place to eat.
Despite having a power outage they still opened their doors and served us a delicious breakfast. Both the server and the owner were very friendly and warm. I got the blueberry pancakes and they were fantastic! They used fresh blueberries that made all the difference. All in all, I had a great experience.
Excellent service! The owner treated us like family, even brought us Abershkiver (?) on the house. Ever one of our party of 8 enjoyed each of the dishes placed in front of us!
Had a wonderful breakfast here with my spouses. The service was excellent, both men who served us were very kind and friendly. My husband had the Mustard Seed Special and he loved it, my wife had the Solvang special which came with two sausages and 4 aeblskivers enough, to share around after all the food was finished, I had the cream cheese and chive scramble with ham, which was fantastic with a light flavor. All were delicious and perfect amount of food for hungry travelers! We loved this place and would definitely recommend and return!
Great food and service!
Opened early for us so we could have breakfast. Very nice and goood food!
The worst experience I have ever had. Horrible food , very bad quality and very bad service. My son ordered a side Caesar salad with the horrible philly cheese steak , which they charged $10.00 extra. They also charged %20 for their horrible service. The meat was black, it either came out from the freezer or from a can. We ended up paying $80.00 for 4 small , yucky sandwiches. I hope we will not get sick and end up in the ER !!!
Do not waste your time and money here. This was the worst food I have ever had in my life. It even makes me sick just passing by this restaurant.
Very nice waiter. and the food was good and satisfying. The atmosphere was pleasant with a nice view of the people and park. Over all I would give this place a thumbs.
We enjoyed our meal and everything was beyond great. Food came to our table faster than we thought and tasted yummy. I would definetly reccomend the Ruben sandwhich. Highly recommend
Wish I had read reviews first. We unknowingly double tipped also. Wasn't told it was already added in. Food was good but overpriced. No extras like bread or side salad.
We had a wonderful experience at the Mustard Seed Restaurant in Solvang. The service was efficient and friendly, despite the fact that we were a dozen boisterous bikers. Since I'm gluten free, I can't comment on the sandwiches everybody else had, they seemed to enjoy them, but my split pea soup and green salad hit the spot. Prices were reasonable considering we were on the main drag in the middle of the touristy area. I would recommend the Mustard Seed to anyone looking for quick lunch while visiting Solvang.
Basic food with a Danish flair.
Fantastic service, tasty food, and fun small town charm. A must try.
AMAZING food and customer service. The lamb shank with okra stew was delicious and fell off the bone and it also catered to my Zabiha needs. The owner was very kind and accommodating. I’ll definitely be back with my family next time I’m in town
Good food.
Outstanding
excellent service, pleasant environment, and the food - reuben and split pea soup were FANTASTIC. Salad super fresh too. a must for lunch.
Walked in there and the nastiest old man...the restaurant smelled dirty. And it was plates all over. Worst is the character of this man who is trying to be cool and funny but turn out to be flat out disrespectful. If I'm the health inspector it'll be rated D- D-MINUS
Great wholesome food with super friendly waiters! The patio is dog friendly. We love this spot!
Worst food, Worst atmosphere, Worst service, Worst quality.....This is all I can say. BE AWARE !!!
Chili was great
bacon cheeseburger was just ok, the sausage was weird but ok, the onion rings were the frozen variety, and the little dough balls with strawberry sauce and whipped cream was inedible, microwaved, rubber.
A truly perfect place to watch life pass by on Hwy. 246, Mission Dr. Downtown Solvang. And a wonderful menu with delicious food. Breakfast is scrumptious, lunch is ideal and dinner is satisfying. Can'tgo wrong!
Excellent restaurant high quality delicious food and perfect service. Best place to come and enjoy the food.
